We are incredibly proud to announce that Haicheng Lu, a PhD candidate in the Cao Lab, has been awarded the prestigious 5th Zhou Chuan Memorial Scholarship (周传纪念奖学金)!
Established in 2022 to honor the legacy of the late outstanding young scientist and Tsinghua alumnus Dr. Zhou Chuan (1984–2022), this scholarship recognizes exceptional PhD students who demonstrate independent scientific thinking, a strong dedication to research, and tremendous potential in life sciences. The selection is highly competitive, open exclusively to top-tier research institutions where Dr. Zhou studied and worked: Tsinghua University, NIBS, and the Institute of Zoology, CAS.
Out of over 30 high-quality nominations this year, Haicheng was selected as one of the 9 final recipients following rigorous preliminary screening, comprehensive evaluation, and interviews. The award ceremony and accompanying academic symposium were held on June 17, 2026, at Tsinghua University.
